See the children’s’ newly renovated house? It’s because of YOU. Because of your never ending CARE and unfailing LOVE. We were able to renovate our ORANGE HOUSE to make it more conducive for the children with special needs. The Orange house is the place where Cerebral Palsy patients are taken care of. In order to improve their physical motor and development, they need enough space and equipment for them. It is important that the children should be provided with their needs continuously to improve their development.
Thanks to all your help, NOW we have the therapy room which is more spacious. Their bedroom which is cozier to sleep to. It is a developmental center for them. Now, we can perform the physio and sensory therapy, as well as developmental activities we learned with the training in Holland. We cannot do this on our own. We are overwhelmed that we have warmhearted people like YOU who help support the FOUNDATION.
Why is it necessary to have an Orange House for the Cerebral Palsy children? Here is a brief background about CP. Please see article below:
CEREBRAL PALSY
Oftentimes children complain about life. Too tired of their homework... To do many things in a day.. Parent’s commands...That they need to move here and there to fulfill tasks... But isn’t it they should see the positive side of it? That they should be grateful they are blessed to live a normal life.
Unlike for children with Cerebral Palsy, they can’t even move the way they want. They can’t live a normal life. They still need someone to accompany them most of the time. Why? What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral palsy is a term which encompasses a set of neurological conditions that cause physical disability in human development - they affect the brain and nervous system. The word cerebral refers to the area in the brain that is affected, while palsy means complete or partial muscle paralysis, frequently accompanied by loss of sensation and uncontrollable body movements or tremors. Cerebral means related to the brain or cerebrum.
Babies born with severe CP often have an irregular posture; their bodies may appear to be either very “floppy” or very stiff. These conditions can worsen overtime without proper care.
We didn’t have the awareness and expertise to prevent this from happening until now. Thankfully, our wisdom and know-how has been enlightened so we no longer have to treat them as bed-ridden patients, feeding and cleaning them all in the same way etc.
A child with cerebral palsy needs health professionals and services who will be involved with looking after the child's needs. This includes therapies, medical procedures, surgeries and medications. Although the brain injury that causes cerebral palsy cannot be healed, the resulting physical impairment can be managed with a wide range of treatments and therapies. However, because each child’s condition is unique, treatment plans are varied and intensive. They are tailored to a child’s physical, developmental, mental, and emotional needs. So they really need a specific place to be able to do these things. They ought to have a special place for their needs to be focused on.
According to Mr. Ron Forrest of Canada, “Give them the right tools and they will interact. It's an amazing transformation.”
Cerebral palsy treatment depends entirely on the needs of the person. The aim is to help the child achieve as much independence as possible throughout his/her life.
